Hi Neighbors,
As many of you noticed this morning, our Potters Creek entrance sign,
as well as the stop sign at Collins and Lakeside Circle were vandalized
with black spray paint. I met with officer Jeff Jones and filed a report
on behalf of Potters Creek Civic Association. The City should be
replacing/repairing the stop sign and other damaged street signs on Linworth
Road sometime this week. Thanks to Blake Godard, he touched up our
Potters Creek subdivision sign with leftover paint. If you remember seeing
anything suspicious in the neighborhood last evening, feel free to contact Jeff
Jones with the Worthington Police Department. In regards to our
subdivision sign-- after several meetings and input from many interested
constituents in our neighborhood, we have ordered a new sign and it will likely
be installed in the next month. Special thanks to Nancy Crocker, Denise
Wollett, and Ken Galloway for their work and input during this process.
Once again, the GREAT news is that no special assessment will be necessary for
this very valuable improvement to our neighborhood. Attached, please find
an image depicting the new sign.
Other important news:
--Many of you have experienced long delays due to the Wilson Bridge closure.
A neighbor has asked me to forward the following information regarding this
closure and some action items that you can take to voice your opinion over the
impact it may be having on your commute.
“It looks like Wilson Bridge over SR 315 will be closed for
several months. The Dept. of Transportation would not accept it as an
emergency repair, so they will have to allow a time period for bids, etc.
Here are three people to e-mail and express concerns about the traffic delays
this is causing especially in the morning.
I asked them to consider temporary traffic lights at each
side of the bridge allowing traffic to travel both directions using only the
eastbound lane. Another suggestion I made was to have police officers
controlling the traffic lights on the alternate route at Olentangy and Rt. 161
and at Linworth and Rt. 161 during the morning rush hour. I explained to
them that I work 2 miles from home and it takes me 45 minutes to 1 hour each
morning. This back up at the traffic lights on 161 also affects travelers from
our area trying to get on to Southbound 315 to get to OSU and downtown etc.
Please feel free to e-mail them with your suggestions,
hopefully if they hear from enough people, they'll come up with a better
plan. Also, please send this to all of your friends and neighbors who are
effected by this.”

--Special
thanks to the Wollett family for hosting a wonderful Halloween
potluck on Friday. Lots of families have commented on the great time they
had that evening.
--Petty
theft and car vandalism continue to be a problem in our neighborhood.
After attending a community action meeting last week and speaking with the
Police Chief about this problem, he recommended sharing the following
tips. Many are obvious, but it doesn’t hurt repeating:
1) Close your garage door.
2) Park your vehicles inside your garage, if
possible. If you don’t, be sure to take valuables and garage door openers
out of your vehicle and LOCK YOUR DOORS to your vehicle.
3) Car parts and GPS systems from cars are the most popular items being
stolen lately.
4) Please don’t hesitate to call the Worthington
Police if you hear anything or see anything suspicious in the neighborhood late
at night. The police would love to catch the thieves, but they need our
help.

Name, by Address, and by Dues Paid. As a reminder, this contact
information is confidential—intended for the neighborhood use only. Many
individuals have chosen to post their unlisted phone numbers in this directory
ONLY and it is important to respect their privacy. Additionally, email
solicitation is not the intention of distributing the email addresses. Please
keep this directory handy, as a paper directory is not currently planned or
budgeted for.
Feel free
